The largest firearms and ammunition manufacturer in Southeast Asia, ARMSCOR Global Defense Inc. (AGDI), opened its 24th Tactical Survival and Arms Expo/TACS Expo (Defense, Security and Survival Show for Sustainable Living) on Thursday, June 19 and will run until June 22 at the SM Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong City.

Saying that the National Capital Region is more prepared than most other regions in the Philippines, AGDI president and CEO Martin Tuason underscored the need to raise the awareness level of Filipinos all around the country about the importance of preparedness in times of calamities.

“I think it’s important to take this show on the road – in Davao, in Cebu – nationwide. We want to bring our advocacy of being prepared for calamities and teach people about survival, like what to do when there’s a storm and power is cut off,” Tuason said.

“We have earthquakes, we have volcanic eruptions. When people come here and learn from the seminars, then the knowledge they gain can actually save their lives or their family’s lives in the future. And even if just one person gets saved for all these years that we’ve been doing the TACS show, then it’s worth it,” Tuason added.

The ARMSCOR executive also highlighted their advocacy for responsible gun ownership, emphasizing that every law-abiding citizen has the right to self-defense and protect himself, his property and his loved ones.

In his speech, Philippine Army Commanding General Lt.Gen. Roy Galido who was the opening day’s guest of honor and speaker lauded Armscor for holding the TACS Expo and for its contribution in spreading awareness about the latest tools, technology, and practices that help in understanding and addressing the evolving challenges that continue to shape the security landscape.

“Significant events such as this TACS Expo are crucial in navigating the complex intersection of security and technology in our modern era. This gathering reflects our collective willingness to acquire knowledge on survival tactics, operational readiness, and best practices. It allows us to foster a vigilant and prepared community capable of facing the dynamic challenges of defense and security,” Galido emphasized.

Over 30 exhibitors are taking part in the most anticipated tactical and survival show in the country that features the latest in firearms, survival tools, tactical gear and other equipment not only for self-defense and survival but for rescue purposes as well.

A License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) processing caravan that includes psychological evaluations, psychiatric examinations, drug testing and a gun safety seminar, along with express releasing services, will be made available to visitors through the duration of the event.

Also present during the event are AGDI Deputy CEO and Senior Executive Vice President Gina Marie Angangco; Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office chief, Police Brigadier General Ericson Dilag; Director of Police Community Affairs and Development Group, Police Brigadier General Marvin Saro; and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence Office chief, Police Lt.
